Literally, Nobody Cares

Literally, Nobody Cares

How many followers you have,

nobody cares;

what you think about immigrants,

nobody cares;

the food you eat, or where,

nobody cares;

Literally, nobody cares about

how many kilometres you’ve

cycled,

or run or swum – nobody.

Literally, nobody cares about

the photos you post

of your glorious perfect

life. Nobody.

The holiday in the artic circle,

nobody cares;

your air miles status or

your business class seat,

nobody cares;

the poems you post or

the people you host,

nobody cares;

the people you love or

hate, the people you’ve

lost,

nobody cares;

literally, nobody cares and

so in a world of

indifference – literally, care

about somebody.

Take your care into the dark

unreal world of the off-line,

where literally nobody knows

and nobody cares;

Take your care into the unseen

and unfelt; into the unlit

corridors of the analogue.

There, where nobody knows is

where the real peace of our

time sits and waits and ponders.

The cloaked and reserved

people shall inherit the earth.

And yet, literally, nobody cares!
